Jawaban:
Menurut tulisan-tulisan yang saya baca tentang alasan mengapa lagu ini dijadikan judul album, adalah karena lagu ini merupakan inspirasi utama dalam penulisan album. Hal tersebut bermula ketika Mike Shinoda (gitaris linkinpark) melihat sahabatnya Chester (Vokalis Linkinpark) dengan wajah yang murung (karena biasanya Chester pribadi yang riang gembira). Mike pun segera bertanya pada chester “Hey, Chester apa kau baik-baik saja?” Chester pun menjawab pertanyaan tersebut dengan nada sedih “tidak, aku tidak baik-baik saja.” Jawaban “tak baik-baik saja” ini juga berkaitan dengan wawancara yang dilakukan Chester pada sebuah media sebelum bertemu Shinoda, yaitu tentang cerita sedihnya melawan narkoba, tentang cerita sedihnya ingin bunuh diri tahun 2009, keluar dari depresi, dan yang terakhir dan paling utama adalah cerita sedihnya tentang ditinggal orang yang sangat disayangi Chester.
Berdasar cerita sedih itulah akhirnya Mike Shinoda Menulis lagu ini sehingga sebagian besar liriknya diciptakan oleh Shinoda dengan dibantu oleh Chester di beberapa lirik. Sehingga lagunya seolah-olah tentang kepedulian Mike Shinoda melihat sahabatnya Chester yang sedang bersedih karena beberapa hal khususnya tentang cerita chester yang ditinggalkan oleh orang yang sangat ia cintai. Sehingga lagu One More Light secara harfiah dapat dimaknai sebagai lagu tentang seseorang (penulis lagu) yang berusaha menasehati sahabatnya yang sedang bersedih karena kehilangan orang yang ia cintai.

Linkin Park adalah grup musik beraliran nu metal dan rock alternatif yang berasal dari Agoura Hills, California, di Amerika Serikat. Mereka sempat beberapa kali berganti nama, antara lain Xero, Hybrid Theory, hingga nama Linkin Park sampai sekarang.
